Could Steve Koschal be a Master Forger and could he still forging?

It’s a simply outrageous statement; however, it just may be true. In an exclusive taped and fully corroborated interview with one of Mr. Koschal’s close family members disturbing accusations have come to light.

ADN has obtained a copy of this interview which we understand has been made available to the FBI for further investigation.

According to the interview from June 2006, Steve Koschal is accused of having a lot more experience with Forgery than either of his websites would lead one to believe. In the interview, a family member of Koschal’s explains that several documents sold by Steve Koschal to dealers and clients may not have been authentic.

Below is a partial excerpt of the interview, which had been transcribed and witnessed by a third party, and corroborated by an additional family member.

Interviewer: “ …But, so, so anyway, uh, I mean the important thing is what, exactly, what items, exactly, did he forge?”

Family MemberThe resignations for Nixon.

Interviewer:  The Nixon resignations?  Is that the only thing, or are there others items too?

Family Member:  Other ones.

Interviewer: What are the other things?

Family MemberUh, a Helen Keller, a couple of Helen Kellers.

Interviewer:  Just a couple?

Family Member:  Uh, that I know of. That I'd actually seen him do.

Interviewer:  And what about...

Family MemberGeronimo, I think? Might have been another one that he did.

Interviewer:  Right

Family Member: And, uhm...

Interviewer:  Dali?

Family Member Dali ...

Family Member: ...the only thing I do remember him doing was having maybe a signature on the desk and him practicing over and over and over again until he, you know, had it down to a pat...

Interviewer:  Do you know how he sold the things that he forged?

Family Member:  Just calling people up and telling them what he had available.

InterviewerDid he put his forgeries in his own catalogs?

(interruption)

Interviewer:  I was just curious how he would go about; I mean the method he would use to market his forgeries is important to me.

Family Member: Just basically calling up other autograph dealers and putting them in catalogs and selling them.  Doing autograph shows.

Interviewer:  Huh!  How many years do you know of that he actually forged items. Over what length of period?

Family Member:  That's very hard to say, it really is, it's very hard to say.

Interviewer:  Would you say less than five, or more than five?

Family MemberProbably more than five, I'm sure.

InterviewerSo he never, that you're aware of, he never really ceased his activities of forging.

Family MemberI don't think so.

This interview is only an excerpt of the actual full length tape (with permission of the family member of course).

Some portions were purposely not added to protect the family member that is being interviewed. We have been told the person is in fear of retribution.

ADN urges anyone who has purchased any item from Koschal, especially those in question to seek a qualified independent third party reevaluation of the document.

ADN emailed Steve Koschal prior to the publishing of this interview for comment; to date we have received no reply.

We welcome your comments as always; please email us in the contact section of the website.
